IF I could bend the bars of this self-inflicted cage
I would
IF I could count all my tomorrows happily
I would
IF I could break out and fly silently away
I would
But I can’t
So I won’t even try …
As I close my eyes,
to meet with the eternal sleep.
Dreams flood my mind,
just like the summer heat.
Taking me places,
once more, putting me upon my feet.
A day like no other,
a place where you and I ,
actually love one another.
A world not like ours,
filled with wonder and excitement.
A world so different,
filled with hope and incitement.
Let me dream, my dear,
for in this world, I wander without fear.
for in this world, my mind is clear.
The silence is so unsettling
She can’t tell if it’s coming from outside
Or inside
Her head
Cloudless sky
Such a weird shade of blue
The lack of wind
Not a leave bristling
All she can hear is the sound of her living.
